Slush machines are essential equipment for the global retail sector, widely adopted in tea shops, bars and fresh food supermarkets. Thanks to continuous slush production capability, they are popular among physical retail stores. Cooluma specializes in the R&D and manufacturing of commercial catering refrigeration equipment. The SM15A single-bowl 15L commercial slush machine is a compact unit developed for small outlets and light catering scenarios.
Slush machines play a vital role in beverage offerings for physical retailers. The gross profit margin of slush drinks can reach 70%~85%, far higher than ordinary bottled beverages. Compared with traditional manual slush preparation, this machine delivers higher efficiency. Operators can pre-mix raw materials and store them ready for use, speeding up order fulfillment.
It serves as a must-have device for small venues such as neighborhood convenience stores, cafes and compact bars with limited floor space. The compact single-bowl slush machine targets this niche market. Featuring a 15L capacity with tabletop/vertical compact body, it fits front-counter display setups where space is tight.
Low-cost slush machines available on the market commonly suffer multiple pain points: poor-quality compressors prone to shutdown during prolonged continuous operation; inadequate temperature control that either causes ice blockages inside the bowl or fails to form qualified slush; non-food-grade bowl materials susceptible to bacterial growth and non-compliant with overseas food hygiene regulations; bulky body making installation and handling difficult; seal gaskets prone to aging and leakage, complicated disassembly and cleaning, and spare parts hard to source for repairs.
During the design phase of SM15A, an air-cooled high-efficiency compressor refrigeration system is adopted, paired with a food-grade transparent PC bowl for visual display of beverage colors, adding merchandising value for in-store display. The whole machine consumes low power with a rated power of 450W, consuming less energy than competing models of the same capacity. It supports long-time standby power-on in retail outlets and cuts long-term electricity expenses. The machine features a modular design. Mixing assembly, dispensing tap and drip tray can be quickly disassembled to simplify daily cleaning and reduce store maintenance workload. Custom multi-voltage options are available to match power grids across Europe, North America, Southeast Asia and other regions, satisfying export demands.
From the perspective of operating cost, its MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) ≥8000 hours, achieving an industry-low failure rate. The net weight of one unit is only 27kg.
Below are detailed technical parameters. Derivative models in the same series include SM30A and SM45A, differing mainly in tank capacity.

Dual functions: slush preparation and cold drink chilling & stirring. Applicable industries span retail, catering, tourism and leisure sectors:
1. Convenience Stores & Community Mini Supermarkets
Make fruit slush and cola slush to boost cold drink sales in summer. Compact footprint allows installation beside checkout counters for self-service dispensing.
2. Specialty Coffee Shops & Bakeries / Dessert Stores
Offer fruit slush and frozen lemon tea to enrich summer menus, paired with cakes and desserts to lift average order value.
3. Bars, Lounges & Gastropubs
Produce frozen margaritas, cocktail slush and pre-blended alcoholic frozen drinks. Note: alcohol-based mixes are recommended to have reduced alcohol concentration; high alcohol content alters freezing point and impairs slush formation.
4. Cinemas, Amusement Parks, Swimming Pools & Scenic Spot Kiosks
Subject to seasonal high foot traffic. Used for peak summer seasons and converted to chilled juice tank during off-seasons.
5. Exhibitions, Markets, Pop-up Stores & Food Trucks
No water inlet or drainage required; only power supply needed. Lightweight for easy transport, suitable for temporary short-term operations.
Fruit-flavored slush, concentrated juice slush, frozen lemonade, non-alcoholic pre-blended frozen drinks, frozen tea and granita. During off-peak periods, turn off refrigeration and keep stirring to hold freshly squeezed juice or milk tea; continuous agitation prevents pulp sedimentation. Dual-purpose design improves year-round machine utilization rate.
1. Large supermarkets and water parks with ultra-high customer flow during peak hours: twin-bowl or triple-bowl high-capacity models are suggested for heavy continuous demand;
2. High-viscosity dairy bases or pure dairy products: dairy spoils easily and demands stringent cleaning; seals will age rapidly;
3. Mixes with large fruit pulp or seeds: these may jam mixing paddles, wear gaskets and clog dispensing taps. Filtration is mandatory if such ingredients are used;
4. Outdoor locations under direct sunlight: direct solar exposure drastically raises refrigeration load, lowers cooling efficiency and accelerates ageing of plastic parts.
This unit is commercial electric refrigeration equipment. Operators must read the manual before use and strictly follow liquid level requirements. Do NOT run refrigeration with an empty bowl. Empty-bowl refrigeration quickly damages mixing assembly and evaporator; such damage caused by improper operation is excluded from warranty coverage.
Unpack and inspect upon first use: check overall body, bowl, gaskets, dispensing tap and power cord for shipping dents and breakage. Cross-check accessory checklist (drip tray, user manual, spare parts kit including replacement gaskets).
Let the machine stand still before powering on. After long-distance transport, compressor refrigeration oil shifts. A minimum 4-hour resting period is required before power connection to prevent compressor failure.
Disassemble and clean: remove bowl, mixing paddle, dispensing valve and gaskets. Wash all food-contact components in warm water with neutral food-safe detergent, rinse thoroughly with clean water and fully air-dry before reassembly. Site placement: set on a flat, stable countertop. Reserve ≥10cm clearance at machine rear for air cooling; keep away from high-temperature heat sources such as ovens and water heaters, and avoid direct sunlight. Ensure anti-slip feet rest evenly on surface.
Power check: confirm supply voltage matches rating plate voltage. Reliable earthing protection is required. A dedicated outlet is recommended; do not share power strips with high-power appliances.
After full assembly, pour in prepared mixes. Liquid level must cover mixing paddle blades at minimum and shall not exceed bowl MAX marking at maximum. Dry running with empty bowl is forbidden.
Switch on in sequence: Power Switch → Stirring Switch → Refrigeration Switch. Stirring system rotates continuously and refrigeration system starts cooling down.
Slush formation waiting time: under standard ambient temperature of 25℃, qualified slush is normally ready within 40~90 minutes. Higher ambient temperature extends formation time. Observe ice crystal status in bowl during this period and avoid frequent lid opening.
Dispensing operation: push dispensing handle and slush flows out automatically; release handle to close automatically with anti-drip seal shutting off. Collect drips by drip tray and empty it periodically.
Turn off refrigeration switch first. Stirring can keep running for another 15~30 minutes to avoid mixes fully freezing into solid blocks inside bowl; then turn off stirring and main power supply.
For long-term shutdown (over 24 hours), fully empty all liquid inside bowl, disassemble and clean all food-contact components and store after complete drying.
Important reminder: Raw materials inside the bowl cannot be stored at ambient temperature for extended periods, as they are perishable food. Failure to clean after business hours creates high bacterial growth risk and food safety hazards. Storing mixes overnight in bowl is not advised unless professional low-temperature preservation solutions are available.
Do not scrape bowl inner wall with hard metal objects; PC bowl surface is prone to scratches;
Never pour boiling water directly into bowl; high temperature deforms and damages the bowl;
Do not forcibly disassemble mixing assembly while machine is running;
Do not spray high-pressure water directly onto whole machine body. Electrical panel and compressor zone must stay dry; wipe cabinet only with damp cloth;
If ice jams the mixing paddle, cut off power immediately and wait for thawing. Do not force power-on startup, which will burn out the motor.
Routine maintenance includes post-business daily maintenance, weekly deep disassembly maintenance and monthly full machine inspection maintenance. Proper maintenance extends stable service life of slush machine to 5~8 years. Neglect of cleaning and maintenance causes moldy gaskets, higher motor load, premature compressor failure and food safety risks.
Empty leftover beverages inside bowl, remove dispensing tap, drip tray and take out mixing paddle.
Clean bowl, mixing paddle, gaskets and dispensing valve with warm water below 40℃ plus food-grade neutral detergent to remove syrup residues. Strong acid/alkaline cleaners or bleach are prohibited; they corrode silicone gaskets and accelerate cracking and ageing.
Rinse repeatedly with clean water to fully eliminate detergent residues. Air-dry all components in ventilated area, do NOT reassemble parts while still wet, as humid conditions foster mould growth.
Wipe stainless steel cabinet exterior and control panel with slightly damp cloth to remove syrup stains. Avoid heavy water splash on control panel.
Empty waste liquid from drip tray, clean and reinstall after drying.
Complete full disassembly and cleaning. Focus inspection on silicone gaskets: check for whitening, cracking, hardening or mould spots. Replace with spare gaskets from spare parts kit immediately once damaged. Gaskets are consumable items; stocking spare parts is recommended.
Check rotation of mixing paddle for smooth operation and abnormal noise. If rotation is stuck, inspect for jammed fruit residues.
Clean rear cooling grille of machine: cut off power, brush dust off condenser cooling fins. Dust buildup severely reduces air cooling efficiency. Compressor runs under continuous heavy load with increased power consumption and risks overheat protection shutdown. This is the most frequent failure cause for air-cooled equipment.
Inspect power cord and plug for sheath damage and verify proper earthing.
Complete all items of weekly maintenance. Apply food-grade silicone lubricant on mixing shaft bearing (only food-safe lubricant; industrial oil is forbidden) to reduce friction noise and protect bearings.
Conduct no-load power-on test of whole machine, activate stirring and refrigeration sequentially, check normal cooling performance and abnormal noise or odour.
Verify machine level placement, check loose feet and wobble, adjust anti-slip feet accordingly.
Count inventory of spare parts, confirm stock of spare gaskets and procure replacements in advance to prevent unexpected store downtime caused by gasket failure without spares.
No cooling: check dust on cooling fins and adequate ventilation; confirm stable voltage and refrigeration switch turned on.
Stirring not running: insufficient liquid level, material jammed by ice clumps or poor power contact.
Dripping at dispensing outlet: aged gasket or residues stuck on sealing face of tap; clean or replace gasket.
Rising noise: mixing paddle jammed by foreign objects, dust accumulation on cooling fan or uneven machine placement.
Spare part replacement depends on usage conditions. Silicone gaskets are recommended to be replaced every 6~12 months; for high-frequency use stores, replace every 6 months. Dispensing valve cartridge: 12~18 months. Cooling fan: 3~5 years. Consumable items are excluded from main unit warranty. Spare parts kits can be ordered and shipped together with purchase orders.
FOB, CIF and EXW trade terms are generally available. Payment terms for foreign trade orders: advance deposit and balance payment executed per contract.
Warranty for main unit: 12 months for whole machine (calculated from bill of lading date). Core components including compressor and motor carry a 1-year warranty. Warranty only covers defects in raw materials and production assembly.
